BRITTEN: Albert Herring at the Atelier YARD

Dear friends, I am back from an experience nothing short of extraordinary: Albert Herring at the 35th International Art Workshop of Montepulciano.

Teatro Poliziano - MONTEPULCIANO

A challenge from all points of view: music assemblies with deadly difficult for harmony and intonation, a role done under the contract with the in the assembly line, text in English (luckily I have joined two masters substitutes-native speakers who were also two fantastic coach Inglese), rehearsals and performing in English, only Italian in an international cast led by the extraordinary high level rod Roland Boer and directed by Keith Warner genius, a true star-director who offered me a director especially in the first act very "physical" case-chairs where lifted from 4 kg each, where I fought entirely covered by a British flag 5x5 m from which every night I was afraid of not free and where a wooden house I literally fell on his back during the air. I can not deny that I sometimes have to shake the wrists in the preparation of this comic role very challenging, but now, with hindsight, I'm glad I accepted a role as impervious and dare I say musically awkward. I left with my nostalgia Florence Pike and I hope to return soon to this role because I knew after the last performance of the still new things music by Britten.

My Florence is a hardened smoker Sherry and quaff like a sponge. I have transformed your body a bit 'to make it more old and bigoted, when he is standing firm has always bandy-legged, to the parties falls with his face in whipped cream pies, is hungry for food and lemonade, but is especially curious. "Curiosity killed the cat" Albert Herring tells me the last act. Here are some good pictures of this production.

with director Keith Warner and conductor Roland Boer
that I am very grateful and I remember with affection, together with the cast (with 13 singers)
